Lucero Golf & Country Club

In the highlands of Chiriqui Province, Panama, in the sleepy little town of Boquete, has emerged a golf course of uncommon beauty and serenity. With a vast tract of land to work with, golf architect, Mike Poellot, has utilized more than twice the area typically set aside for an 18-hole championship golf course in order to preserve ample space between holes so that members could enjoy the serene, rolling terrain with unbelievable 360 degree panoramic vistas. According to Poellot, “I sincerely believe that we are creating one of the most visually stunning courses in all of Central/South America.”

While it is common practice among many course designers to identify a particular hole, or series of holes, as “signature” holes, Poellot could not do so in the case of the Lucero golf course. “This exquisite property, says Poellot, is so vast in extent and is blessed with such natural beauty and wildlife, that the sequence of all 18 holes which encompass woodlands, meadowlands, ridgelines and riparian valleys coupled with dramatic elevation changes makes for a “signature experience.”

Caledonian Golf Club

This exclusive and private, 18-hole championship golf course has emerged as not only a coveted membership but a permanent venue for many of Japan’s PGA tour events. Golf Digest Contributing Editor, Tom Callahan, has called the Caledonian Golf Club “one of the absolute best golf courses in the world”. We worked closely with our client, Tokyo Green Co. Ltd., to create a contemporary and member friendly golf course evoking the personality, strategy and shot making options characteristic of the great classic courses of the world.

The Preserve Golf Club

We were invited to participate in the master planning process for the 20,000-acre Santa Lucia Preserve in Carmel Valley, California… one of the most extensive and environmentally challenging efforts ever undertaken by a private developer. We provided plans for this exclusive 18-hole private golf course set among the rolling, oak-studded hills and wildflower meadows all within the Santa Lucia Nature Preserve. The golf course and clubhouse are now completed, open for play, and a very limited number of prestigous homes are presently under construction.
